Context
This personal project consists of a curated book component and an interactive webpage designed around my reflections and experiences in college.
The design reflects the privacy of a personal journal by partially blurring content that the reader cannot access. Gradually more content is revealed further into the book, reflecting my willingness to be more open and my growth as a person.
Materials
Materials include entries from personal journals, photographs, course work, planner pages, and other ephemera collected throughout college, occasionally appearing in the form of bookmark pages.
Design elements
Blurred content: At the beginning, most of the content is blurred out except for a few lines.
Embedded bookmarks: I added bookmark pages throughout made from agenda entries, photographs and course work.
Date tags: I added date tags on the sides with the date of the journal entry. Each year of college has a different tag color intensifying in saturation from first to senior year.
Web component
The webpage continues the theme but allows a more interactive and intimate perspective where the user can access a full journal entry.
